SYNOPSIS:
Anna, a late-twenties, sharp-tongued, aspiring professional bowler, is introduced during a documentary-style interview in the staff room of a modest bowling alley. She's confident, ambitious, and aiming for championship titles. Her quirky, overenthusiastic assistant Stephen; her training partner (possibly romantic partner), is her right hand man and source of chaos. Things take a turn when Anna meets Janet and Craig, an obnoxious, well-funded rival couple who challenge Anna's skills and threaten her tournament dreams. With the competition heating up, Anna realises she’s underprepared, unsupported and lacking a sponsor, an urgent problem she tasks Stephen with solving.

As Anna trains harder under the constant judgment of rivals including a local nemesis named Debbie and a self-proclaimed arcade machine philosopher named Preston, Stephen sets out on a painfully awkward mission to secure sponsorship. He flops at Greggs and embarrasses himself at the mall, eventually landing a deal with a butcher named “BJ Butchers,” which results in garish, meat-themed uniforms. Meanwhile, Anna’s pride takes hits from both her own performance and Janet’s psychological tactics. A friendly match between Anna and Janet goes poorly, especially with Stephen showing up late and Anna being mocked by bystanders. The match ends in defeat, and Anna is left humiliated, forcing a new, more focused resolve.

After the loss, Anna hits rock bottom emotionally, doubting herself and scolding Stephen for his lack of seriousness. Later that night, in a quiet food court, Anna begins to recalibrate her motivation. Though drained, she declares she's done playing ego games and sets her eyes back on the championship. With her quirky team, flawed support system, and simmering determination, Anna is ready to refocus on the true goal, winning big and proving herself, not just to her rivals, but to herself.
